Explore further to uncover these distinctive advantages that distinguish polished concrete from conventional flooring options.

Let our experts guide you through the process.

Polished Concrete

Polished concrete undergoes a multi-step mechanical process involving grinding, honing, and polishing using bonded abrasives to refine the floor's surface.

This method includes the application of a penetrant chemical, enhancing concrete hardness and dust resistance. Typically, at least four grinding steps are required, utilizing increasingly finer industrial diamond tools known as diamond polishing pads. For true polished concrete, a minimum of 1600 grit is necessary, with some surfaces finished at 3000+ grit. Additionally, dyes and design techniques like scoring, radial lines, or grids can be applied to add color and patterns. Anything ground under 1600 grit is categorized as a honed floor. This flooring system is eco-friendly and LEED approved.
